About David Forehand
David was born and raised in Cordele, and apart from years away at school in Macon, at Mercer University, and several years recently in Atlanta, he has lived here all his life.
David graduated with honors from Crisp County High School in 1981. He graduated summa cum laude from Mercer University in Macon in 1985, with degrees in Economics and History, and a minor in German. He completed his law degree, cum laude from Mercer Law School in 1988. He was Editor of Mercer Law Review’s Annual Survey of Georgia Law for 1988 and was on Mercer’s intrastate and national moot court teams. He has also co-authored chapters in legal books and written legal articles. He speaks passable Spanish and German.
David has been a lawyer since 1988. He is admitted to the trial and appellate state and federal courts in Georgia. He has tried and argued cases before juries and judges in venues across the state, including all appellate courts. In recent years, both as a business owner and as an investor, he has learned first-hand about the challenges facing small businesses.
David has two grown children of whom he is deeply proud. His faith shapes his life. He has tried to serve those whom society has forgotten or abused. Church has been an important part of his life. He has also worked with and served on boards of ministries and philanthropies that provide decent, affordable housing and meet other tangible needs of worthy partners. He believes that all people should be treated with respect and dignity.
